• The planks must be well glued to the screed using an adhesive (we recommend Sika-Bond T54)! The end sections must subsequently be polished with Mafi Professional Oil or Mafi Wood Floor Oil!
• The expansion gap of at least 5 mm on the edges must always be observed – this applies also for areas adjoining ceramic fittings (bath, shower etc.)
• After laying, the expansion gaps should be sealed using a long-life elastic acryl (protection against moisture entering from behind).
• It is essential to treat the wood after laying with Mafi Professional Oil or Wood Floor Oil. (Using a polishing cloth, massage the oil into the wood – making sure to absorb all surplus with the cloth – see instructions on can) –After oil has been allowed to dry out (approx. 5 - 7 days) wipe the floor using Mafi Soap for Wooden Floors. Please observe instructions for care. After this your bathroom floor can be cleaned using Mafi Soap for Wooden Floors as often as necessary. Important!
• As far as possible avoid allowing water to remain on wooden surfaces. (Wipe off immediately). • Never over-heat underfloor heating (where installed). Max. surface temperature is 25 °C.
• Please remember that wood reacts with chemicals (calcium deposit remover, vinegar solution etc. may cause marks).
• When oak is chosen, there may be a reaction - marking (due to the tannin content) to various substances (e.g. metal with water).
